Launch of Schools for Goal 7 Cohort 3 in partnership with Siemens Energy

We are excited to announce the launch of Cohort 3 of the Schools for Goal 7 initiative. Educators worldwide are invited to apply to join the Schools for Goal 7 Project, an initiative run by Global Schools in partnership with Siemens Energy, that aims to integrate energy and sustainable development into the classroom through gamified curricula.
Participants in the program will benefit from:
Free online training on renewable energy and STEAM for educators to boost sustainable development knowledge and capacity.
Educational resources on teaching SDG7 and Greening STEAM Education to cover key topics such as the SDGs, the energy transition, green skills, climate action, and sustainable consumption.
Technical and content support related to the Planet Rescuers Minecraft Education game developed by Siemens Energy and Possible Lab.
Opportunity to have students participate in the Schools for SDG7 student competition (for students aged 8-15), receiving additional resources to support students in creating projects that address real-world issues related to SDG7.
Participation in the Green Careers Symposium, where students can meet professionals shaping the future of green jobs.
A formal Certificate of Completion from the UN SDSN and Siemens Energy.
By signing up, teachers commit to engaging in a structured learning program.
Program Requirements:
Selected teachers will participate in activities from December 2026 through May 2027.
November 2026: Take a pre-survey to assess baseline knowledge and expectations.
December 2026: Take an online training course: The online, asynchronous training course will take place in December, from approximately December 7th - 31st, 2026. Educators will have the ability to take this course at their own time and pace. This training course will be divided into four modules, and is expected to take educators approximately 12 hours to complete. The training course will provide educators with practical ideas for integrating SDG7 into their classroom activities using a STEAM approach, as well as working with the Planet Rescuers Minecraft Education Game.
January to April 2027: After completing the training course, educators will commit to playing the Planet Rescuers Minecraft Education Game with their students from approximately January 11th to April 9th, utilizing this pedagogical resource in the classroom. This game will support student learning on SDG7 through gamified curricula. This game is currently available in English, French, German, Spanish, and Danish. The Global Schools Program training will include a live Q&A session with Siemens Energy to deepen understanding of the Planet Rescuers Minecraft game and how to implement it in the classroom. Playing the game in full takes 10 weeks, but educators can select topics that are most relevant to their classroom and learners.
April 2027 / May 2027: Take a post-survey, providing the Global Schools Program with feedback on the training program
We acknowledge gender biases in STEAM education and thus especially welcome applications from teachers who address this issue. All teachers and school leaders worldwide that work with students aged 8-15 are eligible for this free program.
Join the information session on November 16th at 2pm UTC to learn more about the program.
Please apply here by the final deadline of November 20th.
