STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN ECO AMBASSADORS SUMMER PROGRAM 2023: NURTURING SUSTAINABility CHAMPIONS

In a proud moment for Modern Public School Shalimar Bagh in Delhi, India, eight exceptional students have been selected for the prestigious Eco Ambassadors Summer Program 2023: My Age of Sustainable Development for COP28. This program aims to encourage students to carve their own sustainability path , equipping \young minds with the knowledge, tools and skills needed to make a significant impact on sustainable development efforts by first examining the most immediate environments with a lens of social justice, values and global citizenship .


As they prepare to embark on this transformative experience, let’s delve into the program’s objectives and the potential it holds for these aspiring Eco Ambassadors.


The selected students from Modern Public School are: Anannya Bhasin, Asmita Gupta, Dhanvi Chadha, Saadhak Dewan, Vanya Gupta, Hemakshi, Anika Sehrawat, and Apoorva Thakur.



These students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to sustainability and have now been provided with a unique platform to further their passion for making a positive impact on their communities and the environment.


The Eco Ambassadors Summer Program is designed to be a comprehensive and holistic learning experience, empowering students to learn about various aspects of sustainable development.


Throughout the program, they will acquire not only technical skills and tools in using geospatial data, but also vital content knowledge about sustainable development frameworks and global issues.


Moreover, the focus on soft skills such as communication, self-awareness, community empowerment, leadership, and global citizenship will make them well-rounded and effective agents of change.


For Neetu Luthra, being a Global Schools Program (GSP) Advocate holds a special significance in the context of this achievement.


The program's objectives resonate with her mission to promote global citizenship, awareness-building on climate education, data visualization, community mapping, equity, and social inclusion, among other crucial topics.


By supporting her students’ participation in this initiative, she furthers her commitment to fostering sustainable development and education for the larger community.


As these students embark on their journey as Eco Ambassadors, they will not only enhance their understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals but also develop an acute awareness of the relevance of these goals to their context.


Armed with innovative tools and skills gained through the program, they will be equipped to create impactful projects, advocate for climate action, and actively contribute to the betterment of society.
