Every month, the Global Schools Program (GSP) takes a moment to spotlight and celebrate its dedicated mentors who work so hard to bring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to life in classrooms around the world.
This month, the GSP is proud to once again celebrate six Mentors of the Month who have continued to inspire commitment to empowering teachers, inspiring students, and building stronger and more sustainable communities.

As both an Advocate and Mentor, Amar has gone the extra mile to support fellow advocates with custom-made resources designed specifically for the Global Schools Program. She even created a website called Green Mind, a platform dedicated to green education and sustainable development. It features games, videos, and a chatbot to help advocates deliver ESD content to their students more effectively.
Amar took the initiative to develop a joint project that brings together the work of her fellow advocates into a shared learning hub. Through monthly meetings, regular WhatsApp communication, and ongoing mentorship, she’s offered consistent support and guidance, always ready to advise, collaborate, and uplift others in their journey.

As a Global Schools Advocate, Efe has become a powerful voice for sustainability education. Through content creation, collaboration, and community outreach, she’s been promoting sustainable development in ways that feel both accessible and inspiring.
Her dedication shows in everything she does, from producing engaging educational materials to building strong relationships with educators and students. Efe doesn't just advocate for change, she lives it, using her platforms to spread the message of the Global Schools Program and encourage others to take part. Her commitment continues to inspire a growing community focused on building a more sustainable future.

Blaise’s journey from being an advocate to a mentor in the Global Schools Program shows just how deep-rooted his passion for education and sustainable development is. As a Humanities teacher with over 13 years of experience, Blaise has empowered both students and teachers to see the value of integrating the SDGs into everyday learning.
By encouraging colleagues to embed ESD principles into their lessons, and by mentoring fellow educators, he’s helped spark a shift in how sustainability is taught. Thanks to his efforts, extracurricular clubs focused on ESD have emerged, and more students are taking part in community-focused activities.
His support goes beyond the classroom. Blaise offers consistent one-on-one guidance, group mentorship, and has even taken the stage as a keynote speaker to share the importance of global citizenship. His unwavering support has left a lasting impact, not just on his mentees, but on the broader education community.

Nada brings her passion for sustainability into everything she does. A dedicated educator, she’s on a mission to make a real difference by embedding ESD into the classroom experience.
Her work also focuses on raising active citizens who can positively impact their communities. Her belief in education as a driver for change is reflected in her consistent efforts to create spaces for learning, reflection, and action.

Before becoming a Global Schools Mentor, Oluwabunmi was contributing as an Advocate. Since 2023, she has worked so hard to raise awareness about the SDGs, ESD, and GCED in her school and community.
One of her achievements was organizing a training workshop for school leaders and teachers, bringing in fellow Advocate Busayo Adeyemo as a virtual trainer. She also helped launch an SDG club at her school, now known as The SDG Young Solutionaries. The club has since led various initiatives, including environmental cleanups, awareness campaigns, reading activities with underserved schools, and even Menstrual Hygiene Day events in partnership with local organizations.
Oluwabunmi also expanded her reach to other schools in her community, empowering more than 500 students across eight institutions. Through a whole-school approach, she integrates the SDGs into her lessons, helping learners embrace environmental stewardship and global citizenship.
As a mentor, she offers support to the mentees assigned to her and her co-mentor, sharing insights, resources, and opportunities. For Oluwabunmi, advocacy is not just a title, it’s a lifelong mission. As she says, "Once an advocate, always an advocate."

Rosita is a passionate educator, mentor, and doctoral researcher who brings empathy and equity in education. Through her mentorship with the Global Schools Program, she helps teachers develop inclusive, SDG aligned practices rooted in cultural identity, student voice, and community-based learning.
She combines academic research with practical experience, drawing on drama-based methods, bilingual literacy, and trauma-informed teaching to guide teachers and in creating compassionate classrooms. Her mentorship empowers them to become trainers themselves, providing the tools they need to lead workshops and foster cross-cultural understanding.
Rosita’s work is grounded in real human connection. She shows teachers that empathy isn’t just a value, but it’s a method for creating transformative, justice-centered education. Through her thoughtful and relational approach, she continues to inspire a movement of teachers who see education as a pathway to belonging and sustainable change.
