280+ Educators and School Leaders Graduate from the Global Schools Advocates Program

On Saturday, February 5th, Global Schools Advocates in the 3rd cohort of the Global Schools Advocates Program celebrated their graduation ceremony.

The ceremony was moderated by Global Schools Program Manager, Amanda Abrom. It began with a Keynote Address from Global Schools Director, Sam Loni, who congratulated the Advocates on a successful term over the past 5 months.


Next, nine Advocates shared their individual experiences in the program and their work promoting holistic and transformative education to achieve sustainable development. The following Advocates were featured graduation speakers:

  • Cris Raymund Viray (Philippines)

  • Lissette Pino (Ecuador)

  • Farrukh Avais (Pakistan)

  • Shedluck Devis Haule (Tanzania)

  • Sarah Steel (England)

  • Purvi Parekh (India)

  • Helen Umeobieri (Nigeria)

  • Patricia Bergstrom (Spain)

  • Maria Stella Ficai (Italy)

The Global Schools Program is grateful to these Advocates for sharing their school-wide strategies and stories of change with their peers.

Afterward, Global Schools Project Officers and members of the Advocacy Team, Emmanuel Michael Emechete, Kannan R Nair, Kendra-Lee Heney, Fikayo Agha, and Felix Mmeka expressed their congratulations to the Advocates.


The graduation concluded with a reading of the ceremonial slides and a discussion on future collaboration and next steps.

Global Schools is delighted to announce that approximately 80% of the Advocates extended their mandates to continue working with the Global Schools program in the upcoming school semesters.


Global Schools will shortly share the data compiling the incredible success of the cohort in reaching students, teachers, parents, community members, and administrators with comprehensive school activities and projects.
